warner brothers announces casting for title role

the star pictured below is rumored to have secured the title role in "yankee doodle dandy" ,the story of george m cohan...

he is also negotiating for the starring role in "the jazz singer"...al jolson , interviewed,says "no way"

Ah, I just put your clues together, and since the face is familiar, I am going to guess George Jessel in PRIVATE IZZY MURPHY

Well, I was pretty sure it was Jessel once I studied his face ,... and he did The Jazz Singer on Broadway (assuming that was a clue).. so I checked his filmography and that was the only title that seemed reasonable.

scsu my friend .the whole thing was sent in as a joke...most of us oldsters know jessels ppicture from exposure on tv and his prominent nose and nasal delivery..you are right ..he did JS on bway and assumed he would do the same on film.....now he and jolson can battle it out in that great movie screen in the heavens ....LOL
