The President And The Porn Star

The only thing I'm interested in is if campaign funds were used to pay her off.   Otherwise this is a nothingburger for me.

The same goes for that Nashville mayor that just resigned.   The MSM always leads with the sex angle.  BFD that she had sex with her bodyguard.    That isn't a crime and that isn't a reason a politician should resign.   It was the misuse of public funds that was the big deal there.

....A Story’s Slow Rise Above the Din

The original headline used the term "slow boil" which suggests that though it has legs it is likely to simmer just below the surface. The larger point is that it's only one of many Trumpian scandals that have bark but don't really bite (meaning providing decisive damage, i.e. Trump still reigns). He has so many and they come so quickly that the latest diverts attention from the previous. The glut actually protects him by creating diffusion of focus. Reagan's Teflon presidency doesn't hold a candle to this.

If she was on the staff I don't think Trump would have half the trouble attracting new cabinet members.

But I suspect Melania wouldn't be happy about Donald working "overtime."

Even if campaign money was used to buy her off,  that is a fairly minor violation (though the amount in this case is fairly large).    Politicians from both parties have been found to have misused campaign funds for personal expenses so doing so isn't that uncommon.

But sex sells.    E.g. I just read yet another article on CNN related to the former Nashville mayor:  again it implies she resigned because she was married and had an affair,  instead of the fact she misused city funds.

I wonder if anyone has even received any jail time.  E.g. Mark Rubio used his campaign's Visa card for personal expenses,  claiming he just got confused and took the wrong card from his wallet.    He just had to reimburse his campaign and pay a small fine.

But like I said,  the amount in the Trump case is large.

Working "overtime" implies he already works and does anything except play golf.

Are you KIDDING, Tom?!

Haven't you noticed the looks that Melania shoots at her husband now days in public?

(...and so MY guess would be that she'd WELCOME such a thing)

JUST IN: Trump's lawyers looking to stop "60 Minutes" from airing interview with Stormy Daniels: report http://hill.cm/zq295DI

I haven't watched 60 Minutes in years. Now might be a good time to start watching again.

After all, I can never get enough of Anderson Cooper; he's so cute.

It looks like Anderson may have hit the jackpot here.

I wonder if "John Miller" and "John Barron"  have ever met "Dennis Dennison"?

D r u m p f is starting to remind me of that movie with Joanne Woodward, "The Three Faces of Eve".

Stormy Daniels has offered to return the $130,000 she received from Michael Cohen.

In exchange, Daniels wants to end her deal to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump, NYT reports.

Under the offer, Daniels would be able to “(a) speak openly and freely about her prior relationship with the President and the attempts to silence her and (b) use any publish any text messages, photos and/or videos relating to the President that she may have in her possession.”

The pornographic film actress Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, is offering to return a $130,000 payment if she is allowed to speak freely about what she claims was an affair with President Trump.

Looks like drumpf has met his match.
