This one is really cute. Olivia DeHavilland sings for a few seconds (starting from the :43 mark), then gets very embarassed. :)

Hah, great ideas. I looked, but couldn't find any on YouTube.

One last one before I have to sign out and deal with my job (sigh). It's Ruby, of course:

I love Jean Arthur. What a sweet clip.

Here she is dueting with Fred Allen, singing the praises of Oldsmobile:

One last one for tonight. I wanted to post this earlier today. This is my favorite scene in *Only Angels Have Wings* - for me, the best part of the whole movie (it gets good at the :43 mark):

I couldn't find that one on YouTube, unfortunately...

Here's a real odd one. Charles Laughton and Elsa Lanchester do a duet:

I didn't know whether to post this song here or in the "film songs" thread.

From the movie *Less Than Zero* (which I haven't seen in its entirety; it was less than enjoyable). I think that the Bangles do a much better job with this song than Simon & Garfunkel (said by a diehard S&G fan).

"Hazy Shade of Winter":

I used to have the vinyl album of this song, which had multiple versions. One of the versions was this same song played backwards. It sounded strange, of course, but it was creepy and weird and cool!

I think even that version is better than what Debbie Boone could have done with it. ;) I had a fleeting thought to post "You Light Up My Life" here, but it was too painful - I just couldn't....!

With the use of standing recordings in movies substituting for soundtracks the songs get a second life. While the composers of original soundtrack HATE this for good reason, there are some movies where I love it, for it connects me to a song I had almost forgotten.

Also, I would not have heard this fellow otherwise:

My favorite song from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY:

You must have missed my earlier tribute, darkblue. Several weeks ago, now. These guys kept the tradition of the troubadour going, even after they parted.

And my personal favorite:

This is from his move ONE TRICK PONY that was his love song to musicians everywhere, famous or not.
