Thanks Barton for the incredible list. I was born in Wisconsin so that's the one I was eager to check-- surprised they didn't pick TWO GUYS FROM MILWAUKEE!

Neat idea. They have some creative people in scheduling and programming.

I wonder if they toyed with this idea for 31 Days of Oscar but couldn't quite come up with enough Oscar-related films. It works nicely as a monthly spotlight, especially for U.S. geography buffs!

If I remember correctly they did a geography-inspired 31 Days of Oscar festival a few years ago (2013 maybe?). It was more global, though, not necessarily confined to the States. It's a good idea nonetheless

Hopefully they'll do a spotlight on films that take place in Canada! (And Mexico.)

I've been reviewing the July, 2018 titles carefully. On the 50 States in 50 Movies series there are two states that I don't find. I couldn't find movies connected to Rhode Island and Minnesota. They could be going old school and say they were doing 48 states but that would mean omitting Alaska and Hawaii, not Rhode Island and Minnesota. Has anyone else found them?

It seems that Rhode Island will be represented by "High Society" on July 3 at 6.00 ET; and, that Minnesota will be represented by "Cass Timberlane" on July 17 at 6.45 a.m. ET.

Minnesota is not on the master list.  They do list Washington, D.C., which is not technically a state, but not Minnesota.

Cape Fear (North Carolina)

The Big Chill (South Carolina)

These two were pulled. North Carolina is now represented by BRIGHT LEAF and South Carolina is represented by CONRACK.

I haven't looked over the rest of the July schedule. But there may have been other substitutions.
