I believe I posted this about a week ago on TCM-0ITES all-time fav. comedies, but it appears I strangely had no takers???

So I'll throw my 2 cents in again & please cast your own picks for HOLLYWOODS top 5 to 10 all-time fav. "MOVIE COMEDIANS?"

1st of all as a kind of guidance mine are as follows *Charles (Spencer) Chaplin-(l889-l977)-Though  like Keaton he never made me laugh &only watch the duo in amazement at their sheer brilliance)

2. Buster Keaton

3. The Marx Brothers

4. The Three Stooges & for some reason since I was about 10,m they just put me in stiches)-(though only their 25yrs at Columbia

5. Stan Laurel &  Oliver Hardy

6. W.C., Fields (a word of genius is thrown around way too much, but they had that title)-(TRIVIA Gleason's #1 idol was Ollie by the way & Jack 0akie)

7/Bud Abbott & Lou Costello

8th fav. *Woody Allen & Albert Brooks cracks me up too)

(NOTE: Above all though Jackie (Ralph Kramden) & *Art (Ed Norton) Carney make this viewer laugh more than any other)

&WHO DO WE HAVE IN OUR CURRENT ERA> Pauly. Shore,. Kevin Hart, Jasck Black, Chris Tucker, etc)

THANX & AS USUAL THROW IN YOIUR 2 CENTS ON THIS ONE

For comedy team it would be The Marx Bros, Abbott and Costello and then The Three Stooges.

For actresses that I find to be great at comedy it would be Jean Arthur,  Carol Lombard and then Rosalind Russell.

For actors it would be Chaplin and Keaton.

Sadly, John Candy is thought of less and less all the time
