>It was about how so easily humans are manipulated and become fearful when things happen that they don't understand.

Wow, talk about relating movies and such to politics (not to speak of larger-than-life events and their effect on same)

>Well Fred, this "3 pages of replies in 1 hour" thread does prove one thing, how boring "The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp" is.

Yes, I've tried to watch it several times, but I just don't get it.

Ahhh...fear. The ultimate weapon.

And keeping it "Right Left Right", is that not how the neocons bullied Congress into war with Iraq?

I personally would've been fine with us "firebombing" Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia.

Iraq?

They were SECULAR.

I would've been fine if "Mission WAS Accomplished". Too bad the movie title "Mission Impossible" is already taken.

I'm, a.....still wondering about that. I've seen worse here. Doesn't mean "nicer". I've seen worse though.

I was locked out until I retracted.

Oh well.

It was funny, no?

This is a big celebration out here were I live. This state was started by Mexicans as early as 1599. There were large Spanish/Mexican ranches out here before the Mayflower landed at Plymouth. The other Europeans didn?t start arriving out here until the mid-19th Century. People still fly the Mexican flag on their houses out here. However, by law, they are also required to fly the American flag too. Some of them don?t object to that.

?Safe Ride offered to Cinco de Mayo revelers

Bernalillo County is extending its Safe Ride Home program to assist Cinco de Mayo revelers who may have imbibed too much cerveza and tequila.

The program will be in effect from 10:00 p.m. Monday night to 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

People who have had too much to drink must ask for a Safe Ride from a restaurant or bar employee who will then schedule the ride with Albuquerque Cab Company.

The county funded Safe Ride Program typically operates Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.?

Thanks, but there are younger people that read the boards, so I want to look out for them.

Did you know that the first mathematics book used in the New World was written in Spanish? I believe three copies are still known to exist. I have a facsimile.
