Clue #2

Snobbery, bickering and backbiting among the "below-stairs" staff of a wealthy household.

#3:

A murder story but not a murder mystery. The audience knows who dies, and how, and

who done 'em in. Can the police solve the crimes? No, but they think they solve them, and a very bad person is arrested (actually only a blackmailer). The Lit professors call that "Irony ".

One murderer accounts for three deaths. The first victim is poisoned. The second is beaten to death, but then its discovered that the wrong person was attacked in the fog of the title. The killer

then ingests poison in a manner intended to frame the blackmailer. The timely rescue is thwarted

by a police interrogation (more Irony). So the murderer becomes the third victim.

On the money, 6s. I was running out of ways to present clues. I was next going to point to the fact that there is one murderer, but two blackmailers. The first targeted the killer; the second one targeted the first blackmailer. Irony and unintended consequences all over the screen. Some pretty unlikable people, as I remember, But Simmons never looked lovelier.

Its yours.
