The Colonial Theater in Pheonixville PA (suburb of Philadelphia) hosts BLOB FEST weekend every year in July:

This theater is in perfect original condition and the location where the 1958 movie was filmed. There's a fantastic list of classic monster movies shown all weekend, almost certainly 35mm if I know the staff there.
Every year the highlight is the "Run Out" where everyone gets a photo op "running for your life" out of the theater. Many get into the vibe by dressing in ca 1958 clothing. There's lots of vendors, food & great movies to attend.

Sadly, the nearby 1940's diner used in the movie was sold & replaced with a newer 60's model, using the money made from the production. (Same fate of the original art deco Hefty Hideaway in Baltimore used in 1988's HAIRSPRAY)

If you are interested, TCM is playing The Blob tomorrow night.
