* Six Degrees of Separation *

1,151 posts in this topic

I don?t know if everyone is familiar with the 6 Degrees game, but it can be especially fun when played using classic film actors.

I?m hoping it will be something we?ll all enjoy, perhaps we can give it a whirl, eh?

Now most people play 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon, however since this is a classic film forum, not exactly a contemporary film forum, the game I propose is a broader version. (if the broad version gives us trouble, we can always amend this later?)

The rules are very easy and for those who may not know, this is the way the game works. Using the standard 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon formula, the goal is to link actors together by the movies they co star in using SIX OR LESS films.

For example, one challenge could be to ?Connect Spencer Tracey to Humphrey Bogart.? It is then up to the rest of us to come up with a workable formula. There are of course more than one way of doing this, but the winner will be the person who comes up with a solution first. For example, if I posted the following solution ?Spencer Tracey was in Captain Courageous with Mickey Rooney, Mickey Rooney was in Breakfast at Tiffany?s with Audrey Hepburn, and Audrey Hepburn was in Sabrina with Humphrey Bogart.? That?s less than 6 films, and I would then get to decide what the next challenge would be. Whoever comes up with the fastest, correct reply gets to decide what the next challenge will be, and so on.

Anyway it?s just an idea, and if it?s fun, terrific, and if not, oh well?

So, without further ado, I guess I?ll just kick things off with the following challenge:

Challenge: Connect William Holden to William Powell
