Stormy Daniels arrested while performing at Ohio strip club, her lawyer says

Stormy Daniels, the porn star at the center of a political storm involving President Trump, has been arrested, her lawyer says. Michael Avenatti, who's become a frequent guest on cable TV networks since becoming Daniels' attorney, tweeted about the arrest early Thursday:

Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta

She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!! #SetUp #Basta

We expect her to be released on bail shortly. We also expect that she will be charged with a misdemeanor for allowing “touching.” We will vehemently contest all charges. #Basta

Columbus police tell CBS News they're not aware of Daniels being arrested, and as of early Thursday, Daniels wasn't being held by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. The club, called Sirens, would only say "no comment" when reached by CBS News.

An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act bars any non-family members from touching a nude or semi-nude dancer, according to The Associated Press.

This is the person the Democrats were all frothing about for a couple of months to help take down Trump? Someone doing strip clubs and being touched? Laughing MAO

She's been used more than the water in the Mississippi river has been. Politically and otherwise.

Forget it, Stormy, it's Ohio.

I'm embarassed to admit it's my state. A set up if there ever was one. DUMP's orders?  The state of Jim Jordan too. But it's not all bad.....

It likely could have happened in any state and I was just kidding around. Every

state has good and bad points. As a Steelers fan, I also have a tiny ax to grind.

"....Under an Ohio law passed in 2007, an employee who regularly appears nude or seminude at a sexually oriented business is prohibited from touching patrons, except for family members.

Because Daniels does not regularly appear at the club, the charges were dismissed, according to court documents.
"I've determined that these crimes were not committed, based on the fact that Ms. Clifford has not made regular appearances at this establishment as required under the law," Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement after reviewing the case......

"She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a nonsexual manner! Are you kidding me?" Avenatti tweeted. "They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities."

Avenatti said Daniels was arrested while "performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs."

"This was a setup & politically motivated.
It reeks of desperation," his tweet said. .........
