That's Maxie Steiner in the foreground. Unlike LUX RADIO THEATER, which used original scores by Lou Silvers, "Screen Director's Playhouse" and "Academy Award" often used thematic material from the films' original score. Max Steiner scored FLAMINGO ROAD. One LUX show that DID use Steiner's material was TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE.

Hi Mongo . . .

I Really Enjoy Viewing All your Photos,

But I just have to Ask . . . .Is that Really Joan Fontaine ?

I've always felt that Joan had a more 'angular' face with high cheekbones,

a classic beauty . . . .

The face on this girl, in the picture, appears more softer and rounder.

I could be wrong . . .I have been before.

But anyways, Thanks for sharing all your wonderful pictures.

Ugaarte

Ray, thanks for the aditional info regarding Max Steiner. He was certainly a master of music.

Ugaarte, the image was identified as Joan Fontaine when I found the picture.

I myself see Miss Fontaine in that beautiful face.

I'm glad that you are enjoying the thread.

First chance I had to look at today's pictures and love them all!

I thought Connie (holding the bunny) looked a lot like Debbie Reynolds, and Luana Anders looked a lot like Inger Stevens, and in that particular picture of Marlon before I read the caption, I thought it was Gene Kelly.

Poinciana,

I colorized these four photos and several others for someone at the Connie Marshall Society. So while that does look allot like Debbie Reynolds in the Teen Easter still, it is in-fact Connie Marshall. The photo with John Hodiak is from the film SUNDAY DINNER. Has anyone seen this on TCM before?

The movie you referred to as "Sunday Dinner" is actually called "Sunday Dinner for a Soldier" (1944) and it's a 20th Century-Fox Picture, as were many of Connie Marshall's films. So, being 20th Century-Fox, it hasn't been on TCM.

musicalnovelty,

Thanks for the info. She sure was a darling little girl. And she was very pretty as a Teen too. I don't have anymore stills uploaded on Photobucket yet, but I will add some in the next few days of her. I don't get Fox Movie Channel, and haven't in several years. Do they ever run much of Her movies?
