Dario Argento

I just watched "Inferno" (1980) Dario Argento's horror fantasia the film is structured like a musical- with a very loose plot showcasing elaborate murder production numbers.  This was Argento's follow up to "Suspiria" and it shares that film lurid production design and eye popping color.  Keith Emerson wrote the memorable score.

I'm a big fan of Argento, despite the wildly varying quality of his output. Deep RedSuspiriaTenebrePhenomena, and Opera are probably my favorites. I have all of his movies on disc, including the terrible recent efforts like his 3D Dracula and Giallo.

My favorite Argento films are "The Bird With The Crystal Plumage",  "Deep Red" and "Suspiria" but even his lesser films are interesting for his visuals.
