Insurance groups are recommending GoFundMe as official policy

- where customers can die if they can’t raise the goal in time

- but sure, single payer healthcare is unreasonable.

<_<

Obama and Pelosi were the ones that didn't support removing for-profit private insurers from the U.S. Healthcare system.    Of course Obama is irrelevant but has Pelosi really changed her POV on the subject?     Can she with  all the funds she helps Dems receive from those same insurers?

Is the Dem party a big enough big-tent party to include DSA members?   E.g. will these members ever get committee assignments from the leadership?

(of course maybe this isn't a problem since certain DSA members of Congress don't even understand how the Federal government functions!).

But seriously it will be interesting to see how inclusive the establishment wing of Dem party is especially when it comes to the Dem primaries in 2020.

Not willingly, no.

Donors would not approve.

What they need to do in 2020 is ditch the caucuses, where fewer people vote publicly.

Example: In 2016, 394 people voted in the North Dakota caucus (June 7, 2016), where 20 delegates were at stake.

That same day, 53,006 people voted, by secret ballot, in the South Dakota primary, where 25 delegates were at stake.

That's outrageous. The caucuses need to be ditched.

I can agree with that, but the primaries in many states are not much better.  Especially those where the nominee of a particular party is almost automatically the victor in Nov.  The South for example.

Remember, the primaries gave us Donald Trump.

another fair & unbiased opinion from 'Russia Today'

-_-

RT isn't a bad media outlet. It has had Noam Chomsky and Slavoj Zizek on it and Jeremy Corbyn recommends it as a news source.

Every news station has a bias. BBC, Telesur, Press TV, and many others are funded by their governments. Even the MSM usually has people from the government on who have a clear bias. You just have to think for yourself when reading and watching it like every other news source.

So true but most people appear to want an echo chamber.

Right on. Not American fake news, so it's well worth listening to.

I'm not even sure what he's objecting to. Everything said in the video is factually correct and they even show the Tweets and meetings on the screen. Maybe he agrees with Ocasio Cortez that "Azov Battalion" McCain is an "unparalleled example of human decency."

Most likely it is just another binary over partisan view of US politics;  I.e. there are two parties and one is either for ONE party or the OTHER,  and once one is for that ONE party they shut their eyes to anything negative about THEIR party and of course almost everything associated with the OTHER party is negative by default.

I didn't view what was said as a knock, per se,  on Ocasio Cortez and the democratic socialist movement (or Sanders type wing) but instead how the establishment corporate Dems are using these folks (with the 'we are a big tent party' line).  How on the surface they will be welcomed but once 'folded into the mix',   the key policy items they want will be mostly ignored and therefore voters that support these polices and voted for DS type politicians will be fooled,  yet again.

He always objects to RT.

Always.

A case of advanced Russophobia, I believe.

When I first won, folks said we were too naive, inexperienced, and uninformed to be effective.

Yet in our first weeks, we elevated #GreenNewDeal to national urgency,

secured 30 cosponsors on a Select Committee, and helped stop a bad tax rule.

I’d say we’re off to a good start.

First who is 'we' here?    The Dem Socialist group?    Note that they (member of the DS) just shut down a news conference given by L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti (very much a liberal Dem),  because of how they view his handling of the homeless issue in the city.

Ocasio-Cortez is now the leading member (and clearly most famous),  of the group.

What does elevated greennewdeal to national urgency actually mean?  Probably nothing.  30 cosponsors on a Select Committee - cosponsoring what?  There are are lots of bills and actions that have many cosponsors and fail.  What bad tax rule did they stop?  Who actually stopped it?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is floating an income tax rate as high as 60 to 70 percent on the highest-earning Americans to combat carbon emissions

If advocating a 70% top marginal tax rate makes someone a "socialist,"

what did a 92% top marginal tax rate make Dwight Eisenhower?

Osasio-Cortez is a proud member of: The Democratic Socialists of America a left-wing organization of democratic socialist, social democratic and labor-oriented members in the United States.

She wasn't forced to join this group.
