On its wiki page PANIC IN YEAR ZERO! (1962) is listed as a science fiction film. But I don't remember there being much science in it. It seems more like a road picture with noir elements about the end of the world.

If you think about it though, Kiss Me Deadly could probably also be called a SiFi Noir. Is it even possible to carry around fissionable material like that, that would go into a meltdown doing a "china syndrome" on a Malibu beach?

Any nuclear physicists on the board?

How do you classify ON THE BEACH (1959)? Or something like THE DAY AFTER (1983)..?
