"A Battle For The Soul Of This Nation" - You Tell 'Em, Joe!

Joe clearly isn't talking about Warren and Harris when he say 'we' and 'our';    Warren and Harris have stated multiple times they would use executive power and privilege to bypass Congress.   E.g. Harris comments yesterday with regards to Dreamers.

No you don't,  Harris!

Then why hasn't he tried to get a law passed limiting the president (any president) from abuses of executive powers?  After all he was in Congress for a very long time.  Even now, he could get Pelosi to pass one.

Politicians only complain about abuse of power when the other side is doing so.

E.g. see the comments Harris made yesterday about Dreamers and using executive powers to give them a pathway to citizenship.

Biden's night: Coddles a room full of the ultra rich,

promises he'll preserve their way of life

Lauds conservative David Brooks as a brilliant columnist

Lavishes praise on not 1 but 2 ardent Southern segregationists.

Democrats, is this really who you think can defeat Trump???

That Biden was in the same Senate caucus as James Eastland demonstrates how much politics has changed since he was first elected -- and how inapplicable that ideologically jumbled party era is to the currently sorted system

Kyle makes the right point. Biden wasn’t celebrating segregationists. He was celebrating a political alignment and culture that existed when he came to the Senate but no longer does

It was President Kennedy who said:

"Let us never negotiate out of fear,

But, never let us fear to negotiate."

Obama negotiated it. trump destroyed these negotiations.

People who are warmongers would have  a different attitude if they were the ones who were going to have to put their lives on the line, or if it was going to be one of their sons or daughters.

If you can't learn from Iraq , then there's certainly a name for you.

Only 1% of eligible Americans currently serve in the military.  As I said on another post, I know an intelligent professional whose son and grand-daughter are most likely headed for the Middle East in next six months.  They are in different services.  He still supports Trump 100% - as of a few hours ago.

I agree with your sentiments and Americans did learn from Vietnam, but that eventually receded.

Personally, I think the National Security Advisor, Sec. of Def., Sec. of State and a few others should be required to move to the combat zone if they advocate a new war.  In this case, Trump should send his sons and daughter to the wars.  FDR sent his.

Obama made a deal that would only have delayed iran's aim for nukes for ten years and handed a regime that sponsors terrorism over a hundred million dollars.

that is weakness feeding into defeatism and it is a bleeping disgrace.

it says something that progressive intellectuals and liberal democrats always prefer to kiss up to evil rather than frontally challenge and destroy it.

Perhaps during those 10 years, the world could have brought more pressure to bear on Iran and the deal could have been continued or even strengthened.

Wrong again.  Pres. Obama did not hand over a hundred million dollars to Iran.  He removed the barriers to them accessing their own money in American financial institutions.  It was Iran's money.

Spoken by someone who has never had to "frontally challenge" evil.

Joe Biden has pitched his candidacy on a notion of steadiness, being an antidote to drama.

But many Democratic voters worry about whether he’s a man for these times

and can he avoid shooting himself in the foot with his words.

These worries seem to be mounting.

Terrified Trump Writes Check to Biden Campaign

"......Trump took a break from the G-20 summit to watch the Thursday-night contest and emerged from the viewing “ashen and trembling,” one G-20 colleague said.

Later, Trump was overheard trying to enlist Russian President Vladimir Putin to support the Biden 2020 effort.

“Please, you’ve got to help Joe. He’s in trouble,” Trump pleaded with the Russian.

“Stop being such a baby,” Putin reportedly snapped.

Joe Biden faces backlash for telling Kamala Harris to "go easy on me, kid":

"Kid? She's a grown woman"
-------------------------------------------------

I’m so tired of@JoeBiden bragging that Obama picked him.

He essentially won a coin toss on who would appeal to white voters more.

It could have easily been Evan Bayh, in which case does anyone think Biden would be on this stage let alone leading the field?

So my first big conclusion of the night--Biden will not be the candidate.

He may remain at the front for a while, but he is not up to this race,

this competition and the challenges of this era. It's hugely contrarian.

But he just feels fragile and tenuous to me.

Joe Biden: "Heartbroken to hear the news from El Paso. Our thoughts are with those impacted by yet another senseless act of gun violence ...

How many lives must be cut short? How many communities must be torn apart?

It’s past time we take action and end our gun violence epidemic.

'No moral leadership': Biden assails Trump in blistering speech

Biden’s remarks at an event in Burlington, Iowa, came amid Trump's visits to El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, the sites of mass shooting last weekend.

..... “We have a problem with this rising tide of supremacy, white supremacy in America and we have a president who encourages and emboldens it,” Biden said. “His own FBI director recently testified to Congress that extreme white right-wing groups, white nationalists, pose the greatest threat to racially motivated domestic terrorism. And what has Trump done? He's poured fuel on the fire.” .....

saying he had “more in common with George Wallace than he does with George Washington.”

“Trump offers no moral leadership, seems to have no interest in unifying this nation. No evidence that the presidency has awakened his conscious in the least,” Biden said. “Indeed, we have a president with a toxic tongue who has publicly and unapologetically embraced the political strategy of hate, racism and division. So it's up to us.”......

Biden”s speech, and Cory Booker’s, and every one of the Presidential candidates’, polling above or less than 1%, are more presidential than any pronouncement made by the Orange Embarrassment in the WH.

Joe Biden slip-up in Iowa tonight.

"Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids."

Yikes...have fun mitigating that one.

Trump mocked Joe Biden for his gaffe at the Asian & Latino Coalition event, where Biden said:

"We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright, just as talented as white kids,"

and hastily corrected himself to say "wealthy kids"

Joe Biden just said, “We believe in facts, not truth.”
Does anybody really believe he is mentally fit to be president?
We are “playing” in a very big and complicated world.

Joe doesn’t have a clue!
