"The Violent Years"

From 1956, has the distinction of being the most financially successful film ED WOOD was ever associated with (writer).

Female teenage gangsters...**** men at knifepoint...shooting it out with cops.

Let's campaign TCM to air this masterpiece. We've seen *Mr. Blandings Builds His Outhouse* more than enough!

Why, they're nothing but teenage Jezebels! The opening montage of them SNEERING at the rules of conduct written on the blackboard is one of the most hilarious scenes ever filmed. Take that, "Blackboard Jungle"!

Yes, and the "Communist Threat" issue wherein the lesbian who is the girl-gang's fence pays them to smash up a schoolroom!

And no SWAT team in those days...cops wearing soft cloth caps shoot it out with revolvers.

I agree that TCM should show this underrated masterpiece.

They've shown a great many films from the 1950s, but never one where a pack of girls gang-rapes an innocent man! If that's not "essential", what is?
