It was *Mockingbird* that inspired this post, but it?s not the movie that I?m looking for?

 

This father is befuddled and put-upon while just trying to have a good time. He is a dad of the relatively modern age?what did they call it, ?the nuclear family? ?? An Oscar winner played dad?

It is *Mr. Hobbs* ?from about 1962 (well before that dreaded year *1970*?)?good work, your thread?

There you go....I just finished watching that last week...Incidentally, you know what they say about "Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burned" ? I think playing the harp would be closer to the truth...Has anybody seen pictures or read of ancient Romans and Greeks playing the fiddle...?..Your thread, Six.

Good guess, cujas, but the director of this film, tho able, is less celebrated than Hitchcock and the movie is of the ?B? variety?

The suspect disappears and his friend steps in to exonerate him.
