trying to find a particular film..

It's a good film. There are many versions of it available on dvd, but most use poor film elements and the picture looks pretty rough. The best dvd release of THE LODGER is the 2009 one from MGM/Fox home video. The use a print that was restored by the British Film Institute, and it looks beautiful. There are two scores on the dvd that you can choose from. I would recommend the one by Ashley Irwin, as it fits the mood of the film far better that the one by Paul Zaza, which sound more like one of the cobbled together scores from one of those crappy budget dvd releases.

It's well worth searching out for this dvd release, you will get a much better idea of what audiences of 1926 saw when it was originally released.
