2 posts in this topic

George MacAllister(John Carroll)is the half brother of Barry MacAllister(Robert Paige)who inherited the family fortune much to the anger of shifty George.

Barry also married Carotta Duvall(Vera Ralston)a French nurse George had met during WW2.George and Carotta are soon having an affair.

Shady private detective Ernie Hicks(Broderick Crawford)finds out about the affair and is soon blackmailing them.

Ernies mistress,Helen Anderson(Constance Dowling)falls for George, but he has little use for her.Angry,Helen threatens blackmail too.

Great Film Noir Thriller.

John Carroll(as he did in 1942s Flying Tigers)again steals the show.John Carroll was a very underrated actor.

Errol, I looked this up on the tcm search function, but it says it is "not currently scheduled". Have you heard that is airing on another station sometime soon?

By the way, I am impressed with all your noir quotes. You really know your film noir !
