1. Cagney said in his autobiography that Horst Bucholz was the only actor he had worked with that he just couldn't stand..that he was tempted to "..knock Bucholz on his ****.."

edit: just realized the term for a donkey was censored😎

ONE TWO THREE was not nearly as successful as Billy Wilder's megahit movies that came immediately before and after it.....THE APARTMENT and IRMA LA DOUCE.

3). Darryl Zanuck had wanted a British actress to play Amber.  He selected Peggy Cummins, after Margaret Lockwood and Vivien Leigh, among others, turned it down.

5):  The film had a big budget from the beginning, but with the studio shutting down production after filming for over a month, scrapped most of what was filmed, getting a new director, new star, new script, largely new cast and footage, and it's budget ballooned.
