I am watching "The Merry Widow" circa 1934. I would like to see the stage performace by the San Francisco Opera of "The Marry Widow" circa 2001, A PBS Great Performace presentation.

It would be nice to see the movie and the stage performace back to back. The old movie - 1934 and the recent stage performace - 2001. To compare the old with the new.

*Directed by Ida Lupino*

Ida has eight feature film credits as director from NEVER FEAR in 1950 to THE TROUBLE WITH ANGELS in 1966. During this time, she also directed 62 episodes of various television series. What other woman was doing that in Hollywood? Nobody; just her!
