8 posts in this topic

I hope you willl all be attending the Festival this year starting on the 25th. And for those who will be here the night before, April 24th, there's an exciting event over at the Arclight..."AFI Night at the Movies." Twelve classic movies presented by the star of the film. BUT...

...they will all be showing at the very same time, so you can only choose one!!!

The program starts at 7 PM. Ticket for a movie is $30 and includes soda, popcorn, and an ice cream bar.

Tickets go on sale April 11th at 10 AM at arclightcinema.com. I will bet they will go fast.

Here's your choice of films and the presenter:

In The Heat of The NIght - Sidney Poitier

Blade Runner - Harrison Ford

Easy Rider - Peter Fonda

Ghost - Demi Moore

Misery - Kathy Bates

Moonstruck - Cher

Norma Rae - Sally Field

Pulp Fiction - Samuel L. Jackson

Shrek - Mike Myers

Terms Of Endearment - Shirley MacLaine

The Thing (the remake) - Kurt Russell

The Usual Suspects - Kevin Spacey

Wow, Peter. What a line-up.

Thanks for posting that.

Interesting the AFI would do that the day before the TCM FF.

I wondered about that, too. Coincidence? Something with so many stars would take awhile to schedule, but still...the night before the TCM Film Festival?

I attended this event and got to see Sally Field live in person. It was an awesome event and totally 5 stars. They gave us free popcorn, drinks and ice cream. The added plus was a movie star present their own movies. Sally Field's speech was inspirational. I also wanted to see Sidney Poitier, but the tickets sold out.
