Correct Miles. Preston Sturges told the press that Stanwyck would be "radiant in her old age". They first made Remember The Night together, he promised her that he would write a great comedy just for her, and obviously he did. Stanwyck was perfect casting for The Lady Eve. So smart that Sturges had Stanwyck in mind when he wrote the story, he certainly recognized great talent, but that's because Preston Sturges was a great talent. I knew that last clue about winning an Oscar for a different film would do the trick. Good work Miles, your thread :)
