LEONARD MALTIN REVIEW:

? Ford Beebe. CAST: Irene Hervey, Don Porter, Nils Asther, Lionel Atwill, Leif Erickson, Bela Lugosi, Ralph Morgan.

Intriguing grade-B thriller about creepy supernatural figure stalking country estate, murdering doctors who are visiting crippled Morgan.

TV-PG

Synopsis: A series of interconnected murders in London lead back to a life insurance company run by Dr. Orloff.
DirWalter Summers CastBela Lugosi ,

LEONARD MALTIN REVIEW:

? Walter Summers.  Cast:  Bela Lugosi, Hugh Williams, Greta Gynt, Edmon Ryan, Wilfred Walter.

Absurd, sometimes engaging Edgar Wallace tale of evil Lugosi using blind men as pawns in elaborate murder scheme. Original British title: DARK EYES OF LONDON. Remade in West Germany as DEAD EYES OF LONDON.

I saw both of these yesterday. Night Monster was pretty good and I liked the telepathic plot points. I hope they show it again. The copy of Human Monster they showed though was very sub-par and the plot didn't intrigue me very much.

Gilda Live (1980)

Synopsis:
DirMike Nichols CastGilda Radner , Don Novello , Diana Grasselli .

" Gilda Radner's first feature film Gilda Live (1980) is a record of her mostly one-woman Broadway show directed by Mike Nichols.

The delightful Gilda Radner was the first comedian hired at the inception of the game-changing TV comedy show Saturday Night Live (1975). She was the first breakout star of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players troupe, eclipsing even John Belushi in popularity. Arguably a more natural comedian than any of her cohorts, Radner wrote much of her own material, creating a string of original, unforgettable characters spanning all ages of womanhood: the gawky kid Lisa Loopner, the crude, argumentative Roseanne Roseannadanna and the elderly fussbudget Emily Litella. .......

Dir Oliver Stone Cast Michael Caine , Andrea Marcovicci , Annie Mcenroe .

BW- 104 mins, CC,

"Clearly out the Orlac and Beast With Five Fingers mode, The Hand is just as silly as the fictional comics drawn up by its protagonist, but Stone mostly plays it as a straighter-than-straight schizoid thriller that examines psychological breakdowns more so than the visceral fallout."[7]

Vincent Canby from The New York Times gave the film a positive review, writing, "Mr. Stone's screenplay is tightly written, precise and consistent in its methods, and seemingly perfectly realized in the performances of the very good cast headed by Mr. Caine." .....

Suspense and Mabel's Blunder aren't premieres though. Suspense was definitely on during the Story of Film: an Odyssey series and Silent Sunday Nights. Mabel's Blunder was also on a Silent Sunday Night too I think.

I just go by the individual listings as they appeared on past schedules.  So like some of the cartoons, these may have just been grouped together under a single entry as a "special" in the past.

They have been getting more detailed with their schedules in recent years, which is always a good thing.

Well that makes a lot of sense. Some of those short films don't get listed on the schedule. I too am glad that they're listing more of them on the schedule now.

Mac and Me and The Garbage Pail Kids Movie are both awful, but they belong on TCM Underground, whereas River's Edge and In Cold Blood really didn't.

Without commenting on the quality of the premieres, you have to be impressed with just the sheer number of premieres this month on TCM, which may have the most for a given month in recent memory.  And (spoiler alert) it appears that December has a much more modest list of premieres to end the year on.  This is probably not unusual, however, since much of the December schedule is allocated to replaying holiday favorites.
