Is that Campy doin' the ballet dance there?

And there's my boy Eddie...

Go Braves! ... (Milwaukee, that is...)

The great Milwaukee Braves teams of the late '50s were actually the first baseball team that I was old enough to be fully aware of. I still can rattle off most of their rosters. Funny, I have NEVER been a fan of the Atlanta Braves.

The Mets killed the Yankees Tuesday night, 12 to 7. Sweet.

I've never like the Braves, neither now or when they sucked

back in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, TBS broadcasted

about every Braves' game. Skip Carey was a hoot.

Joe Garagiola, Sr.

Ah! ...

Funny man, Joe. I should read his book. He told a story I liked so much that I am shocked I can no longer remember it. He once told a story---not sure if this is the one in question---of someone who came up to him and said, "Are you Joe Garagiola?" After Joe said yes the other guy said, "I thought you were dead." Joe went on with the story (the idea here of course is that Joe might have been old enough to die of natural causes so the story is probably fairly recent) and I thought it very funny when I heard it but I don't remember how the story went from there. Does anyone know it?

http://www.nbcsports.com/horse-racing/triple-crown-recaps/california-chrome-two-thirds-way-triple-crown

California Chrome does it again. He was tested at the Preakness but he showed his

meddle by kicking in his speed in the stretch for the victory.

Next, the Belmont which has been a killer to  twelve other horses attempting to win

the Triple Crown last done by Affirmed in 1978.

I believe if Chrome gets a good ride, he will be able to handle the mile and a half

and win the Triple Crown. He will need his speed and endurance to navigate Big

Sandy's long stretch which so many other horses failed to do so.

1. Williams' homer in the 1941 All-Star Game ???

2. Stan and Willie

3. Yaz ???

Yep all the way around. That's the great Johnny Bench behind Yaz.
