Alain Delon

Interesting. And nice photo by the way. I have to admit I've never paid much attention to Belmondo, not in the way I do with other European stars of that generation. Nothing against him personally, but his screen persona didn't intrigue me the way Delon's did, or the way some of their contemporaries did.

Counting close-ups seems like a new way to count lines. LOL

Alain Delon and Jean Paul Belmondo were both great stars in France.

I always enjoyed their films.

But my heart belonged to Alan Delon.

No surprise, right?

One of the greatest couplings in cinema history -

i love delon; the character he played in this flick was well done; but the walloping he administered to ann-margaret in one scene was rather over the top.

i never condone the physical abuse of women.

There's another English-language role he did in the 60s (for MGM), which TCM airs every so often-- ONCE A THIEF, costarring Ann-Margret and Van Heflin. I hope they show it again.

He was one of those movie actors whose unique beauty, almost ethereal, never got in the way of his giving a very good performance.
