Zombies On Broadway

This is just a comment about Robert Osborne's commentary before the film "Zombies on Broadway." He stated that Bela Lugosi's drug addiction was to "cocaine." Bela's addiction was to morphine, which he started taking in 1939 to manage pain resulting from a back injury sustained while wearing a faulty brace during tests for "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Not only did the injury lose him the part, but it affected his health in a negative way permanently. I'm sure Bela was not proud to be an addict, but it was that or put up with the pain.

 

Bela may have been a junkie, but he was not a recreational drug user. In future commentaries, please make it "morphine," not cocaine, or at least "make sure you're right and then go ahead." (:
