BTW may want to include 'music theme' or something similar in thread title to show it's different from other 'name the movie' threads :)

-again, great idea!

Thanks for the excellent suggestion.

Okay - a couple of clues.  Part of the score is based on PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION.  There is more than a musical connection between that theme and the film.

The movie starred a venerable supporting player in a rare starring role.

In addition to "PICTURES", there is also an operatic aspect to the film.

Again - a 40's 'B' movie.

Oh, much darker than MOON AND SIXPENCE.  The star was the head of an acting dynasty.

any hints here??

any hints here??

Okay.  Made by PRC.  Takes place in Paris.  Features several murders and an opera with very, very small performers!  I will give one more clue if nobody gets it.

Congratulations.

Okay, one more.  And this one's even OLDER than BLUEBEARD.  You MIGHT get a clue from the studio emblem music as it was only used on a few pictures made by this independent producer.  The film itself is based on a stage play and inspired a long-running franchise.

Here goes:

with a Spanish location??

Nope.  And I'm afraid a hint about the location would give away the title.  However, I can tell you that the music does not give any indication that the film is a comedy.

any hint to stars or plot??

The villain wears a toupee.  You'll just have to rumanate over it.
