I can't see 1 and 5.

I'm not sure how to fix that...I can see them all on my laptop and tablet..I'll repost the 4 open--maybe that'll help:

1. Virginia Grey

5. Sisters actress June Havoc and burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee

8. Phyllis Calvert

9. It's The Pictures That Got Small ...: THE WEDNESDAY GLAMOUR 15!

#5. Hedda Hopper on the right, not sure is the other woman Esther Williams??

no..looks a little like Hedda though.

Here are some clues that might help:

1. had a long career, starting at age 10...she did have the lead in a few B's, but I recognize her more for small parts in some A MGM films (she appeared in six films with Lana Turner, a couple with Gable, and even showed up with the Marx Brothers)

5. These two have a closer relationship than just fellow actresses (one is known for her acting, the other is famous for something else)..although they weren't close for many years.

8. This will be the toughest I'm sure--English born actress, first on stage, she was very popular in England but found little success in H'Wood, with the exception of a supporting role opposite Cary Grant in the late 50s.

9. On screen since her teens, was cast opposite Bing Crosby in 3 Paramount films, but left biz after a string of B films in the 40's.  Has a star on the Walk of Fame..she died less than a year ago (over 100 years old..)

Is #1 Virginia Grey?

Is #8 Phyllis Calvert?

Is #9 Mary Carlisle?

Mary Carlisle was one of the Stars Of Tomorrow in 1933.  You can see her in this short clip along with Ginger Rogers, Gloria Stuart, and several others.

That's Johnny Mack Brown with the artist.

all correct!  and congrats on getting the two I thought would be the toughest (Phyllis Calvert and Zita Johann) and thanks for the Mary Carlisle clip.

now for number 5...their lives were part of a very big biopic...and one of them wasn't happy about it at all...

Time to give up on the last pic...maybe it's because they don't look like Natalie Wood and (either) Morgan Brittany or Ann Jillian...but they are the real Hovick sisters..Gypsy Rose Lee and June Havoc.

The thread goes to MilesArcher  (or I'll be compelled to post hats, part 5!)

Shutoo: I was just wondering. Do you have any photos of gentlemen in hats?

well, there's this guy  Did he lose a bet? Or just rocking out his inner woman?

but I have no idea who he is...

As far as actors...there are very few publicity shots or indoor pics of actors wearing hats (except maybe James Gleason.)..and their hats are no fun.  It actually started when I was looking for pics of supporting actresses for just a regular 'guess who', but then I started to notice all the hats...and it just sort of mushroomed from there..

Correct so far, Lavender and Princess.  There are still six remaining.  Anyone else have a guess?

Here's a hint:  For #1, think "chocolate".

Right again, Lav.  OK folks, there's four left. #2, 3, 6, and 10.

For #2 think "Triple R"

Doesn't look like there are any takers Miles, so I'll guess

2. J Pat O'Malley

6. maybe Ida Moore?

J Pat O'Malley is correct.  He was Perkins in the "Spin And Marty" serials on "The Mickey Mouse Club".  It was set at the Triple R ranch.

No. 6 is not Ida Moore.  I believe that this little lady had a recurring role as Barney's landlady on "The Andy Griffith Show".

Here are more pictures of #3 and #10.

Yes, #10 is Fritz Weaver.

#3  e1db0a37f6353c15b07551dbee9b4581.jpg  th?id=OIP.4LMfA9CRQeVlMgO3hD_3AQHaDF&pid=Api&P=0&w=422&h=176

th?id=OIP.4QEGCgt9gmPN3w26fN9XRQHaIb&pid=Api&P=0&w=300&h=300

#3 guested in practically every TV series from the late fifties until the early eighties.  He was in "Planet Of The Apes", both on the big screen and TV.  He was in several Clint Eastwood movies.  He was in a movie that starred Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.  He had a recurring role on "The Doris Day Show", but he was never a regular on any long running TV series.  He played many storekeepers, clerks, and salesmen.

All correct so far, Lavender.  Bill Williams and Barbara Hale also had an older daughter, Jodie.

In #4, I believe that's Rosemary on the left and Lola in the middle.

Here's a hint for #1:  The young girl would go on to become an Oscar winner as an adult.  The man starred in a western TV series.

Here's a hint for #5:  These guys appeared in a version of "The Three Musketeers".

No more guesses?

The man in #1 starred in a TV western series in the 1950's.  He later played Tarzan in some sixties movies.  He was the stepfather of the little girl in the photo.  She would grow up to win two best actress Oscars.

The three men in #5 were comic actors.  Their version of "The Three Musketeers" was a comedy.
