Pardon the interruption but I am wondering whether or not the same schedule has ever been repeated. Not intentionally, but simply by chance. My elementary knowledge of mathematical probability nevertheless tells me that such an occurrence is unlikely but of course not entirely out of the question. But if I had to bet on it, I would say no. Thanks.

To my knowledge it hasn't happened where a full schedule was repeated. Though I think some of the primetime themes have been repeated (with different films selected).

I think you mean not "repeated" intentionally, by the programmers. I was curious about the probability of it occurring by chance. My query is more about mathematics than movie schedules per se, so perhaps it's OT. Sorry then, but sometimes sudden curiosities like this are compelling. In my own case, whenever I feel (lay opinion) there is a probability of something based on givens, the opposite is usually true after the factors come under mathematical scrutiny and the actual probability is declared. Probably the same, here ; its never happened. Thanks again.

Can't speak for the programmers and how they do their job, but my guess is they keep records of themes they've used and the frequency at which they (re)schedule films. So I would think that statistical probabilities aside, they make a point of not repeating things intentionally or even unintentionally, since I would bet the schedules are checked for repetitions before final approval.

Now I can see them deliberately repeating a whole schedule for a milestone anniversary. Like when TCM turns 50, they could conceivably repeat the entire first day schedule on purpose, for historic and P.R. reasons.
