I did a search and found this from Barton_Keyes:

So, based on TCM's on-air advertisement for SHANE Plus 100 More Great Westerns, I can report that this series will be hosted by actor and Oscar-winning songwriter Keith Carradine (NASHVILLE (1975)).

Okay thanks. He did not choose any westerns for tomorrow night. So he certainly won't be repeating any of his earlier comments from the Great Westerns series. He did, however, pick THIEVES LIKE US, in which he has the lead role. So I think his remarks on that film and working with Robert Altman should be most interesting.

He was a guest host for one of the spotlights or something, because I distinctly recall him doing the intros/outros on a few movies that I taped.

I also know that he was a guest host for 'something' on TCM.    I clearly remember asking my wife if he reminded her of someone (I.e. his brother David who my wife knew from Kung Fu).

A note to those who read the thread--

First thanks for reading the thread and using the information.

I am going to discontinue doing this thread at the end of the year.

I think we are moving into the era where monthly, weekly and daily schedules become less important. As people transition to streaming and FilmStruck, they basically create their own schedules.

So the last schedule I will post on this thread will be the one for the 31st of December. If anything we have a good snapshot over the past few years of how TCM's programming evolved. The information in this thread will continue to be relevant, from a more historic perspective.

Thanks.

I know this thread is here, and still disagree with TCM Forum Moderators for moving it here. Thanks for doing this TB. With all you contribute, this may not be a priority for you or others.

Thanks. It has been and still is a priority...or else I wouldn't have dedicated so much time to it. But I think we are starting to reach the point where monthly schedules are becoming obsolete. We are going into an era where the individual has more control over his/her daily content in streaming.

I'm sure TCM will continue to make monthly schedules for cable users. For a while longer. But ultimately TCM will probably merge with FilmStruck and it will all be streaming.

I agree about the migration to on-demand services like FilmStruck. I may not understand why you are doing this thread. I don't use it, but would if my tablet was my go-to device. I look at it as easier to see than anything TCM has on screen. Perhaps you are creating a chronicle. I have started printing the monthly TCM schedules to PDF and viewing them on my tablet. I would enjoy being able to import a calendar file, to an online calendar, where I can look at a day and there is the TCM schedule.

It is basically a chronicle, yes. Also for people who don't save the monthly schedules this is a way to go back and see all the schedules, right here on TCM's site. But it's a lot of work, which I didn't mind doing. However, I think monthly, weekly and daily schedules are becoming less relevant. Using FilmStruck as an example, the focus now becomes not when something is airing, but how long it's available for streaming before it expires.
