Vote 4 your top 10 all-time War-Films-(Given the Iraq war,etc.)

BAND OF BROTHERS(HBO mini-series) is by far the best war film I have ever seen! My favourite WWII era released film is DESTINATION TOKYO with Cary Grant as a submarine captain. John Garfield and Alan Hale Sr. also appear in the film. It is a bit propagandistic, but I love it.

I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread but except for 'Three Came Back" nobody mentioned the ladies war movie 'Cry Havoc' with Margaret Sullivan, Ann Sothern, and Joan Blondell. It gave a pretty good interpretation of what the nurses went thru during WWII.

i like War Films that are Really Anti-War!! Gone with the Wind is Not considered a pro/anti,but the scenes in the makeshift hospital are heart-wrenching and therefor anti-war. John Ford's The Lost Patrol contains in the McLaglen-Douglas Walton scenes particularly, that are also wonderful in the anti-war sentiment !!

So Proudly We Hail! was on recently. That's a very good war film. I like the war films that aren't necessarily battle films, like From Here To Eternity.

Mr. Math, The Story of G.I. Joe is showing now on TCM. Do you -- or anyone else -- know who the voice of "Axis Sally" was in this movie? They chose the perfect voice character for this role.
