My answers will probably give away my age (not too many movies on my list were made before the 70's) and the wars I favor learning about... Here goes anyways...

1. Heaven and Earth (1993)

2. Gone with the Wind

3. North and South (1985)

4. Life is Beautiful (1997)

5. Forrest Gump

6. We were Soldiers (I'm surprised not to many people chose this one)

7. Glory (1989)

8. Memphis Belle (1990)

9. Empire of the Sun (1987)

10. Casualties of War (1989)

Honorable Mentions: Blackhawk Down, The Best Years of Our Lives, Platoon, Why We Fight

Only 10??

Some of these are all time, some are just my favorites, I suppose.

After the top 4, the listed movies are all tied for 5th.

==

1."Paths of Glory"

2."Best years of our Lives" (If it is considered a war movie)

3."Glory"

4."From Here to Eternity

"Spartacus"

"Destination tokyo"

"A walk in The Sun"

"All Quiet on the Western Front"

"Purple Heart"

"Guadacanal Story" (any war movie that william Bendix is in, really, those are all really good)

"Lifeboat"

"(something) Mr Allison" (with Deorah Kerr and Robert Mitchum)

"the Men" (if it is considered a war movie)

How many is that?

There are a million more, 10 was a sadisticly low number to limit us to:)

--If it is not cheating, I might come back and enter a second 10 to this voting.

This is a good topic, people are coming up with good lists.
