Hi,

A very Happy Birthday to June Vincent.

This is a lady who is a real lady; impeccable manners and a sweet, loving demeanor.

She is a true beauty also. No cosmetic surgery and a real blonde, no bottle products here.....

She was every bit as beautiful as Lana, Rita and Hedy but unfortunately never attained great stardom.

Although, she will always be a star to me.

Thanks for remembering her, Mongo... Great job again!

Hi,

Happy Birthday to Patricia Medina. Another lovely and graciuos woman.

I've said it on these boards before and I'll say it again - if there had been no Hedy Lamarr, Joan Bennett or Vivien Leigh, then Patricia would have had a much better and greater career..... Sometimes it doesn't help to resemble other beautiful women.....

And, Isabel Jewel -

One of the great scenes and acting jobs is done by her in "A Tale of Two Cities"...

A tear jerker every time.

>In memory of those who died this day July 18th:

>Dependable blonde actress Barbara Pepper in 1969 at age 54.

Best known to me as Doris Ziffel on the television sit-com Green Acres,

I guess she was a **** back in the day. I'm suprised she was only 54 - she looked older, was probably ill for some time before her death.

According to imdb:

"Barbara's health deteriorated rapidly during the run of the show and she was eventually forced to give up the (Green Acres) part during the 1968-1969 season, with actress Fran Ryan taking over the wifely role. Plagued by a heart condition, Barbara died in July, 1969 of a coronary at the age of 54, looking at least a decade older, if not more."

"It's hard to imagine, then, that this hefty, porcine-like actress was once a knockout, blue-eyed, platinum-blonde Ziegfeld/Goldwyn Girl...(Florenz Ziegfeld's Follies) is where she met fellow chorine Lucille Ball and the two (remained lifelong) friends...Her film debut was as a slave girl extra (along with Lucy) in Eddie Cantor's Roman Scandals (1933)...In 1949...her husband (actor Craig Reynolds) died tragically in a motorcycle accident... severe depression and a debilitating alcohol problem set in..."

"Barbara was seriously considered for the part of "Ethel Mertz" on friend Lucille Ball's classic sitcom in 1951, two years after Barbara's husband was killed. But by this time the depressed Barbara had developed a chronic alcohol problem. With William ("Fred Mertz") Frawley, whose fondness for the bottle was legendary, already cast, executive producer Desi Arnaz felt he couldn't take the chance of having to keep two people in line. Vivian Vance, of course, eventually got the part."

"[D]esigner Kate Spade is David's sister-in-law. She is married to his brother Andy."

Thanks! Though I'm still a little confused. I'd always heard that Jack Spade was Kate Spade's sister. But if "Spade" is her married name, then what's her relationship with Jack? Is Jack a brother to Andy and David?
