Well, I just figured out that if you can't get the Schedule button to work, my link probably won't work either. Mongo beat me to it on the text version. But you'll probably have to update Flash if nothing's working?

Larry,

When you go to the TCM Homepage across the top it will probably say something like

"You need to install Micromedia Flash to view this site. Click here.

If you click on the click here button, it should install the program for you and update the Home Page for you all within a matter of minutes depending upon if you are on dial up or dsl/broadband.

Let us know if this works for you!

Hi Patful, Mongo and Lynn,

Thank you for the info.

Patful -

Your link did work. Wonder of wonders, eh!!

Mongo -

I've printed out your schedule and thanks.

Lynn -

I do have that pesky popup over my window and was wondering what it was. I'll click it on tomorrow and let you know. I told you I was dumb...

Larry

What's up with this thread? In my watch list, I see that there are new posts, but they won't show up on the thread! The thread list page in "General Discussions" shows Rocky as the latest poster, but the last post I can see is the one from Mr Larry on the 25th. Dang, this thread is possessed!

It's possible that Rocky edited a previous post within this thread. When we do this, it shows the new edit date/time on the watch list, but won't show up on the thread...

It also happens when 2 or 3 people are typing replies at the same time, that's how I got printed twice earlier.

I noticed it too, and brought it up in the technical problems section in Larry's "Where's My Post?"

Someone may be editing their earlier posts in an atttempt to keep the Hedy thread at the top or towards the top of the list in hopes of wooing Garbo Maniac back to posting after what happened last Saturday.

Gee Rocky,

And here I thought you were just trying to do a good deed by luring Garbo Maniac back so that he could see that things have gotten better and folks were talking about Hedy again.

If not you, then who do we thank?

Rocky, check below my post and you'll see that I was responding to daddysprimadonna who wrote:

I was just trying explain to her how this could happen. I gave no accusations, no thoughts or implications that you did anything wrong -- because you didn't. I've made many a typo on this board, and have often gone back to correct them. Each time it pushes it up to the top. No stones were thrown, and I'm sorry if you took it that way. Sorry for the misunderstanding. As far as I know, we have no disagreements -- Academy Awards included.

THIS IS ADDRESSED TO GARBOMANIAC:

I don't think I'll be on long tonight because I have an appointment in the a.m. I wanted to wish you a very good day tomorrow, since your lady will be on for the next 24 hours, I doubt we'll be hearing from you very much, so until sometime Tuesday, have a good time, and enjoy! ! ! !

;-)

RockyRoad, I JUST remembered the name of the lovely lady who left this battleground a looooooooong time ago........therealfuster.

This was around the time another woman was trying to censor everyone here...her hair would be on fire if she were here now....and it got ugly here, in no small part from me arguing on behalf of free speech.

Well, look what free speech gets you? :)

Just kidding, free speech doesn't result in chaos, assholes do that.

RR, I too would like therealfuster and GarboManiac to come back, but they are perhaps not folks who thrive on combativeness, as I do. I find it funny that message boards get so ugly, no matter the subject, but I believe in decency and justice, so I will never back down or go away when confronted with trolls or censors.

Unless I am banned, that is!!! No, I won't mention the moronic little site TelevisionWithoutPity again. :)

I WAS pleased, however, to see that Denis Leary didn't win for Rescue Me last night, after his rape scene.

Re: ***ASK MONGO***

Jack, as with any forum people come and go. But, when you start losing some of the best contributors it is a sad occasion. To name a few Ralph, Cindbm, therealfuster (I really miss her) Coffeedan, silentmovefan,Helenwheels, lux0786 etc...and now maybe "bansi4" (mongo) to name a few. I know things change but I'll always miss their times on these boards. I learned a thing or two about my favorite classics here through some great folks. Hopefully they someday return.

(Keeping my fingers crossed)

I wrote that 3 months ago and NOW we're still losing posters. I agree that each poster has there own option. But I also agree that the name calling and "THE BULL-****" stop or we'll be looking at blank pages. I've had my disagreements with some posters but never made them want to leave. There are NO EXTRA points for being the funny one of the boards or knowing more than others we're all hear to share, learn and love Classic Movies. And that is the extent of it. So CHILL OUT and enjoy this site before it's removed from MOST POSTERS "Favorite List"

Wouldn't anyone like to talk about Hedy?

I think her edition of the TCM Confidential is very funny - especially 'new sighting of Bigfoot's wife!'

I'm looking forward to seeing "Ecstasy" -- I've never seen it. Is the big controversy over this film really, as I've read, not because she runs naked through the woods, but that she is depicted in sexual climax? Well, we'll soon find out.

My husband came in late late last night from out of town, and I'd waited up for him,so he let me sleep late, and I missed everything up to the last of "Zeigfeld Girl",sob! I have that movie on video,so that's OK,but I don't know what I missed before, and I don't know how to set the DVD burner timer yet. I have "Ectasy" on DVD,and a couple of others. "Tortilla Flat" is just coming on,and I've never seen it,so I'm watching now :) I've seen "White Cargo" quite a few times. I wish that Antar and GarboManiac were here also, they'd have this thread burning up,LOL.

She's also depicted swimming in the nude in "Ecstasy",and you can see quite a bit.

What was "TCM Confidential"? What'd I miss? I thank my darling hubby for letting me sleep late,he didn't understand about Hedy,LOL!

I think that in "Ecstasy", at her young age,Hedy shows what a fine actress she was and could have been in her Hollywood time. She's especially touching in the scenes with her father in that movie,to me. She shows great subtlety in her acting in "Ecstasy",in the European acting style.

Go onto the home page of TCM, and click anywhere on the Hedy banner on top announcing today's program. You'll see the front page of a fake Hollywood gossip magazine. I do hope I get to see at least some of her films tonight.

Hahahahah! "I had to sleep with a nincompoop"! This movie I only look forward to,for the chance of just looking at Hedy-I don't think that I'm going to care for the movie itself very much. But I'll give it a chance. I like Bob Hope, but I like him best with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour in the "Road" movies. I didn't like the Road movies without Dorothy Lamour in them. The sex jokes got too juvenile, for one thing, and Dorothy just seemed "part of the gang" more than her replacements ever did.
