Here we go...

Nora: You got types?

Nick: Only you, darling. Lanky brunettes with wicked jaws.

-The Thin Man (1934)

You sound like a book, and a very cheap one.

-Maggie (Bette Davis; The Great Lie 1941)

Lionel Twain: It's me! I'm number one! I'm the greatest!

Sam Diamond: To me, you look like number two. You know what I mean?

Dora Charleston: What does he mean, Miss Skeffington?

Miss Skeffington: I'll tell you later, it's disgusting.

-Murder by Death (1976)

Elaine Harper Brewster: But darling, Niagara Falls!

Mortimer Brewster: It does? Well, let it!

-Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)

THE THIN MAN:

(full of them, so I will just give some examples)

Nick:

We're all like that on my father's side

Nora:

How is your father's side?

Nick: Much better thank-you.

From The Women:

Edith: What are you going to write next, Nancy, animal stories?

Nancy: *looks pointedly at Rosalind Russell's character* I wouldn't need to go to Africa for that.

Judy: Steve, you didn't tell me you were married.

Eunice: We're not.

Judy: Oh, congratulations.

Eunice: But we will be, soon.

Judy: Condolences.

From BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S:

Cat!

Cat!

Meow!

Audrey Hepburn picks up no-named cat and holds him in her arms between her and George Peppard while Moon River comes back on.

(And no longer will she be referring to Paul as Fred)

Yes the Thin Man films are full of great quotes. One of my favorites is from Nora in the first film. The police are searching the room and she says: "What's that man doing in my drawers?" Nick's reaction always kills me.

THE WOMEN (1939) is chock full of great dialogue.

Peggy: I'd love to make a little money writing the way you do.

Nancy: If you wrote the way I do, that's just what you'd make.

Sylvia: Thank goodness I'm on to my husband. I wouldn't trust him on Alcatraz, the mouse.

Sylvia: So I said to Howard, "What do you expect me to do all day, stay at home and darn your socks? What have we all got money for? Why do we keep servants?"

Sylvia: Leave it to Mary to see that she's photographed from her best angle.

Nancy: Best angle, my foot, it doesn't half do her justice.

Sylvia: Oh, another lecture on the modern woman?

Nancy: At the drop of a hat.

Miriam: Don't start calling names, you Park Avenue playgirl! I know a lot more words than you do!

Crystal: By the way, there's a word for you ladies. Although it isn't used in high society... outside of a kennel.

I love Crystal/Joan Crawford's line there. TCM shows it at times, and every time I go "Oooohhhhh!"

I own this movie, which is both a good and bad thing, considering I watch it all the time. It's definitely on my TOP 10 List.
