Nice line-up of stars and films if it holds but wish their were some more obscure films for the bigger stars rather than their most famous films which are shown frequently.

For instance more of Jean Simmons early British films like The Clouded Yellow or Cage of Gold, Spencer Tracy's early Fox pictures along the lines of The Mad Game & Goldie (which would have worked for Jean Harlow as well), The Pied Piper for Anne Baxter and so forth.

But overall it will be a fun month of viewing.

GOLDIE has never aired on TCM, not even when Harlow was Star of the Month on her 100th birthday.

I agree that it would have been nice to see more of Simmons' early British work-- especially something like UNCLE SILAS.

Good line up of players, yet the films, though good, are oft repeated chestnuts TCM have shown often in the past. Would've been nice to see The Unguarded Moment on Esther Williams day or Ride The Pink Horse, or better still The Saxon Charm, on Robert Montgomery day, but no. Seems TCM doesn't want to spread it's arms too wide and seek more adventurous fare and seemed content to stay within the MGM/RKO/WB aka the Turner film library, with a few sprinklings from Paramount, Fox and Columbia but nothing viewers haven't seen numerous times.I find that a real shame.

I liked your post, because I agree it would have been nice to see a few more Universal classics.

Out of curiosity, has Richard Conte ever been featured?  I know it would be difficult since he was a 20th century fox player.  I'd love to see Target Zero among some lesser known films.

No, he has not ever been featured for Summer Under the Stars. He made plenty of non-Fox pictures, so it wouldn't be impossible for them to honor him.

To TopBilled, exceptional job, again!  Which of the late 1950's & 1960's European actresses-(Bardot, Cardinale,  Cappucine, etc) passed away within last couple yrs    I forget which one it was?

& haven't had time to go over entire schedule yet, but is either *Tracy, *Sinatra or Natalie Wood in this yrs lineup

THANK YOU
