Should he change his last name to Lennon or just go for a complete makeover and call himself Desi Arnaz?

 If a man like Barack Obama with a name like Barack Obama could be elected president,

then, I think Julian Castro will be just fine.

I was thinking of a certain bearded, fatigue-wearing, cigar smoking gent.

Cowboys lose. How sweet it is. :)

We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace — business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering. They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob. Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me — and I welcome their hatred.

New Post/ABC poll:

53% of Americans blame Trump and Republicans for the shutdown, versus only 29% who blame Democrats.

Importantly, among independents it's 53-23 (!)

54% oppose the wall, versus only 42% who support it.

Trump lost the argument.

"Absolutely not," Lindsey Graham said when asked if he'd support having Marina Gross, the American translator in Trump's meeting with Putin, testify before Congress.

He said that precedent could prevent foreign leaders from wanting to meet with future U.S. presidents privately

Horse poop.  What is to prevent the President himself from exiting the meeting and doing a press conference to go over everything that was discussed?  Nothing.  He has a responsibility to his citizens, not Vladimir Putin.

Any foreign leader meeting with Trump would assume anything they might say would later become public.

Republicans slammed Obama's use of executive powers to enact his agenda, including protecting young immigrants from deportation. But now that Trump is proposing an even more dramatic end-run around Congress, some are uneasily supporting him.

Trump: Ended DACA;

Pulled out of DACA deal;

Demanded the Courts decide on DACA before doing anything on it;

Had his VP say that DACA wouldn’t be part of shutdown talks;

... Blamed Democrats for not including DACA in shutdown talks

David M. Drucker Retweeted Donald J. Trump

This has been POTUS’ approach for a month & it hasn’t worked, likely a direct consequence taking responsibility for the shutdown & voters blaming him for it. This approach might yet work — but it hasn’t yet. =>
