Rod Rosenstein, who oversaw Mueller probe, repeatedly assured Trump that he would be treated fairly, that he wasn't a "target" and that he was on the president's team. At one point last fall, he grew emotional and begged not to be fired by Trump via tweet.

So let me get this straight. Bill Clinton meeting on a plane with Loretta Lynch is corrupt because she was overseeing the investigation into his wife, but Donald Trump meeting on Air Force One with Rod Rosenstein, who was overseeing the investigation into him, is perfectly fine.

I can't picture Janet Reno begging for anything. LMREO

This Administration certainly has some weak men in it.

Trump Has Changed White Evangelicals’ Views On Morality In One Major Way

Many Americans -- evangelicals in particular -- are “putting their politics before their religion,” one researcher said.

This is all quite hilarious and seems to boil down to the question of whether the NRA’s main contractor works for the organization or vice versa. Anyway all these people are terrible, the org will remain bad no matter who wins.

It's all about money.  The ideology angle is either a sham or convenient conditioning.

Matthew Dowd Retweeted Manu Raju

I am reminded of what Margaret Thatcher said “Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't.”

If you have to tell people you are a young vibrant, man, you aren’t.

George Conway Retweeted Raw Story

“There is one faction of the Republican party that may be peeling off, ... and it’s [a] faction that Trump has been counting on .... I’m speaking of conservative lawyers, some of whom seem to feel a bit queasy about what they saw in the Mueller report and Trump’s reaction to it.”

“[Trump’s] accusation [that] McGahn [lied to Mueller] makes Trump’s claim of executive privilege look even more absurd, now that the president is disputing the testimony in public.”

“From a political standpoint, this is likely to make some of Trump’s most important allies unhappy: judges and lawyers upon whom he will have to depend in the coming legal battles. Many of them think highly of Don McGahn, ....”

President golfing at his Virginia club this AM with Japan's Abe.

Speaking of fake news, Trump:

1) had this plaque installed to honor a Civil War battle that historians say never occurred

2) once hung phony Time mag covers with him on the walls

The White House agreed late last night to make former security clearance boss Carl Kline available for testimony this week — but under terms Democrats have already criticized as too limited.

The oversight committee’s top Republican Jim Jordan initiated the request, but Democrats have not indicated whether they’re open to it. Committee Republicans say it’s worth bringing him even with limited testimony — they can always bring him back later.
