Here is an article from Jonah Goldberg about the latest Trump mess.

Maybe this is something both Trump supporters (well most at least),  and those with TDS can agree on.

 https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2019-07-22/trump-tweets-racist-squad-of-four

Interesting article. Thanks.  Unless I am mistaken the author has a pretty conservative bio at the end of the article.

I can agree that when Trump speaks/tweets he has no idea what he is talking about.  Therefore he says some really bad and incorrect things.  However, he also knows enough to ascertain what his base and his desired audience wants to hear.

While he basically may not be a racist, he is a racist by actions.  He also makes statements that support racism or engender racism and he should know better.  He probably does, but does not care.

Instead of rounding up the expected 2,000 illegal immigrants on the weekend, ICE only apprehended 35.  It seems some fool announced the raid ahead of time which tipped off many targets.

DOJ announces broad antitrust review of large tech companies

The DOJ said the goal of its review is to “ensure Americans have access to free markets in which companies compete on the merits to provide services that users want."

".......While the DOJ didn’t disclose specific company names, it’s launching the review based on “new Washington threats” from Facebook, Google, Amazon and Apple, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The agency will examine practices of online platforms that dominate internet search, social media and retail services, the DOJ said in a statement Tuesday.

It’s Attorney General William Barr’s strongest move towards Big Tech, which faces increased scrutiny from both political parties because of the expanded market power the companies have and the rising amount of consumer data they control.

President Donald Trump, a regular critic of Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos, has claimed that Facebook is biased against conservatives.......

Yea,  the odds Trump took the time to read the entire report are ZERO!!!

(but this posting is confusing since I can't tell if it is Trump or that moron Trish Regan that said they have read the complete report,,   I assume Trump since Regan wouldn't have access to the complete report).

Donald Trump Praises Boris Johnson,

Who Once Called Him “Unfit to Hold the Office of President of the United States”

"......Trump’s praise for Johnson suggests that no one in his inner circle has yet worked up the courage to show him the video of the former mayor of London denouncing Trump, during the 2016 campaign,

as “clearly out of his mind.” In late 2015, when Trump first called for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” Johnson stood in front of a television camera to express his disgust.

“You can’t ban people going to the United States in that way, or indeed to any country,” Johnson, then London’s mayor, said two days after Trump’s December 7, 2015, campaign speech where he suggested closing America’s borders to Muslims.....

Johnson went on to say that Trump was “betraying a quite stupefying ignorance that makes him frankly unfit to hold the office of president of the United States.”

“I would invite him to come and see the whole of London and take him round the city,” Johnson added, “except that I wouldn’t want to expose Londoners to any unnecessary risk of meeting Donald Trump.”........

Regular readers will not be surprised to learn that Trump’s claims about his broad popularity in the U.K. were also untrue, in two ways.

First, no one in the U.K. — at least no one whose first language is English — refers to Johnson as “Britain Trump.”

And, as the Guardian politics blogger Andrew Sparrow explained, while Johnson is often compared to Trump, “that is because they both have blond hair and say lots of things that are untrue.” Outside of far-right circles, Sparrow added, “the comparison is not generally viewed as a compliment.”

Trump’s frequent claim that he is loved by Britons is also demonstrably false......

Just got back only to hear of a last minute change allowing a Never Trumper attorney to help Robert Mueller with his testimony before Congress tomorrow. What a disgrace to our system. Never heard of this before. VERY UNFAIR, SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. A rigged Witch Hunt!

The former special counsel has relied on Jonathan Yarowsky,

a veteran Beltway attorney who's advised a president on impeachment

and sparred with Bill Barr over independent prosecutors.

Replying to
Allowing Robert Mueller’s former chief of staff Aaron Zebley to represent Mueller before Congress is such a weird thing to be angry about.

Zebley was the Deputy Special Counsel who knew about the investigations in detail and is therefore up to speed and can provide good counsel.

Trump calls for Mueller deputy to be blocked from testimony

"....Zebley is not expected to testify during the hearing but be on hand to advise his former boss

as Mueller faces rounds of questioning from Democrats and Republicans on his 22-month investigation into Russian election interference and possible obstruction of justice.

Trump’s ire toward Zebley is likely sparked by the fact that he represented the IT aide who helped Hillary Clinton set up a private email server......

Boris was born in New York just like trump.

It took him years and years of contemplation, but finally he gave up his US citizenship.

Because he had to spend the rest of his time telling everybody in London that President Obama was born in Kenya.

What a jerk!

TRUMP: "Then I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president."

(Article 2 does not in fact empower the president to do whatever they want.)

"All things considered, Article II is not very substantial. The first section merely outlines how the president is elected and compensated. The second section enumerates some of the president’s basic powers, such as serving as Commander in Chief, granting reprieves and pardons, making treaties, appointing ambassadors and judges, and filling vacancies when Congress is in recess. Section 3 adds that the president will provide to Congress the State of the Union, that they can convene the House and Senate “on extraordinary Occasions,” and that he shall execute the laws and commission officers.

The last section briefly adds that the president can be impeached.

That’s it. There’s not much there, certainly nothing that substantiates firing people or obstructing justice as he claims, let alone allowing Trump to do whatever he wants...........
