Trump's Biggest Whoppers

35,443 posts in this topic

A year ago, Trump told Carrier workers he saved their jobs, in return for giving the company $7M in taxpayer money.

In July, 340 of those workers were laid off. Today, 215 more of those workers are being laid off.

Trump lied to workers, all for a photo op.

Yes, Trump and Congressional Republicans are wildly unpopular. But we don't talk enough about the fact that their legislative agenda is wildly unpopular, too. Voters literally don't approve of anything they are doing.

The Time cover was designed by the Cuban-American artist Edel Rodriguez, who came to the United States as a refugee in 1980. His Trump meltdown covers for Time drew attention during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Cant keep a good guy down. What makes him think they like him any better there????????

His current district, which he barely won last time, is becoming more diverse so if he goes to another district he probably figures he'll have an easier time getting elected.

If he moved to a district that Trump won his odds of winning would improve.

He won by < 1% and Clinton carried that district by over 6%.

Uh,  you do know that MOST districts in the USA are won by the GOP (at least lately).

If nobody likes what they are doing then why do they keep doing it?

I know all about following the money and believe this is at the heart of Trump's Russian connections.  But, when it comes to legislation, one would think there would come a time when the reps would want to enact legislation that people actually want.  Must having wealthy backers and being in the tank for them always trump (pun not intended) what the public wants?  Sigh;  I guess so and this is why their approval ratings are so low.  Of course, voters keep reelecting these knuckleheads so there's that.

Donald picks all the best people ...

Trump's new ambassador to Holland had a rough go facing the local press.  He refused to answer questions about his erroneous previous claims that Dutch politicians had been burned by Muslim terrorists and this from the WP ...

On another far-right show, Hoekstra said he had considered the possibility that President Barack Obama might be intentionally aiding the rise of Muslim extremists.

[Trump’s ambassador to the Netherlands just got caught lying about the Dutch

Geeraedts said he believed that Hoekstra’s behavior confirmed some suspicions the Dutch have about the Trump administration.

Actually Christine, and to put it more succinctly, it's really those who FAIL to do their civic responsibility and vote in elections who continually ALLOW those knuckleheads to be elected into office, and WAY too often by less than a majority of the citizenry legally eligible to cast a ballot.

And so, because big money interests know this, half or more of their job is already done in seeing who they want elected ARE elected.

And so, this is why their approval ratings are always so low.

(...because those pollsters don't ask people if they actually got off their lazy, disaffected, apathetic butts and voted before they ask 'em what they think of their "elected" officials performances in office)

Dargo,  How excited are you to be possibly represented by Sheriff Joe in your state?  He's still pushing the birther agenda.     What are his approval ratings?

Totally agree about voter turnout.  It's obscene that it's so low and voter restrictions attempts to keep it as low as possible.

If you'll go back a few pages in this thread and spot a picture of the fatazzed old f*art that I posted and along with a few of my thoughts about the guy, I think you're see just how "excited" I am to see that that idiot just can't seem to gracefully bow out of the public eye.

And, I would guess his present approval rating in this red but quickly turning purple state would stand at about a 35% level.

(...but once again, because Arizona's electorate is as prone to sit on their lazy, disaffected, apathetic butts as they are anywhere else in this country, this doesn't mean that that fatazzed old f*art doesn't stand a chance in being elected, unfortunately)

Maybe. Doesnt he have to LIVE in the district? So he's moving too? Dont think the citizenry would look too kindly on that.

That may change in 2018 (most districts won by GOP).......

“Why are we having all these people from **** countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti.

He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway.

BREAKING: @potus unveiled his plan this morning to allow states to begin denying #Medicaid to people and their families, including thousands of veterans, who are facing hard times and unemployment.

DTRbhLuVwAAgv2I.jpg

I've read that now Trump and his pals want Medicaid recipients to have to get jobs. How can the government force people on Medicaid to work?  If you're on Medicaid, it's usually because you're a poor kid or somebody disabled who doesn't have money, including the above-mentioned vets.  Are the child labor laws going to be rescinded so little Johnny can work in a fast food joint in his wheelchair or between his cancer treatments?  Are the veterans who sacrificed their bodies for Uncle Sam and need care now going to get tossed into the streets?  Where are our values?  We're supposed to be an enlightened society.

We've got a president who is not only racist, crazy and likely suffering from dementia but who is cold hearted beyond belief.  How much longer are we going to have to put up with this ****?   Rather than at least try to be presidential and fair minded, psycho Donny just trots out his dog whistles ("build the wall", "Hillary Clinton") to placate his base and the soulless far-right wingnut Republicans go right along with it.  Disgusting.

Being born a mixed race crime in Apartheid South Africa has taught Trevor Noah a great deal about racism.

However, a racist like trump can even teach us more.

I remember the good old days when Obama first got elected and we were told we were now in a "post-racial society."  Sure, it was perhaps Pollyanna-ish but there was optimism.  Now all the racism is front and center from the top on down.  Well, at least it's out in the open, there's no denial, and we all know what we're dealing with.
