same goes with the military...

so as we got into the eighties democrat politicians suddenly started discovering this new love and affection for our armed forces...

everybody knows just who's dam side they were on all throughout the 1960s...

and now they tell themselves that all their unapologetic rampant un-americanism of the vietnam era has been forgotten...

it has not...

the military knows what party truly supports them and they confirm it every time they vote.

As a retired military officer with over 26 years of service, I know lots and lots of military people who vote Democratic.  As usual, you are clueless and have no basis for your comments.

GOP knives already out on #pa18, w/some blaming Trump - saying his Sat rally turned out more Ds than Rs. And others blaming Saccone, including the head of Ryan super PAC who says Saccone campaign was a "joke" and couldn't "walk and chew gum" at same time

Conor Lamb's success in running a competitive race in Trump country is not a total fluke, but the proof of concept of a strategy that will replicate itself across the country. @jonathanchait writes

To GOP pundits suggesting that PA-18 doesn't matter because the district won't exist after this year: the reason it won't exist is because the courts determined it was an unconstitutional gerrymander that was literally drawn to benefit Republicans.

To be fair to @realDonaldTrump, many 5-deferment draft dodgers think its Core instead of Corps.

"Marine Core?"  I always thought it was Marine Corps.  Maybe Trump has changed the designation or more likely is just too stupid to know the difference.  After all, he is the Draft-Dodger-in-Chief.

Hundreds of good people, including very important Ambassadors and Judges, are being blocked and/or slow walked by the Democrats in the Senate. Many important positions in Government are unfilled because of this obstruction. Worst in U.S. history!

One more thing: if Conor Lamb does pull this out, he will have beaten a Republican in a Republican district by running against repealing Obamacare, against the Trump-Ryan millionaire tax cuts, and foursquare for unions. That's a basket of bad signs for the GOP in November.

In other words, he will have successfully replaced billionaire populism with actual populism.

Email to me this morning from former Senator Gordon Humphrey (R-NH), quoted with permission:

"The upset in Trumpland sends a message to Trump toadies in Congress...I sent the max. First time in about 50 years I’ve made a contribution to a Democrat. First time ever, actually."
