12 posts in this topic

Hello everyone.

This is my thread about lists where I and anyone else can make lists about trivia or odd information.

No rules.

lists can be just a list

OR

Lists can be full of great detail.

First list:

Canadian politicians and movie stars:

1. Pierre Eliot Trudeau dated Canadian actress Margot Kidder

2. Pierre Eliot Trudeau dated American actress Barbra Streisand and she considered marrying him to become Mrs. Canada.

3. The son of former Canadian prime Minister Bryan Mulrooney is Ben Mulrooney who is one of the hosts of ETalk and he talks to movie stars all the time.

Thanks for adding your thoughts.

I was hoping someone would mention Ronny.

Because when Canada had their recent election, one of the main criticisms that Harper made about Justin Trudeau was that he "had great hair" and "looked like a movie star."

Perhaps someone should have told him that United States already has had a movie star as the President, so how is looking like a movie star bad qualifications to get elected as head of your country?

Other American movie star politicians:

Clint Eastwood - mayor

George takai - congressman

List of Favourite Hollywood Families;

1. Barrymore:

My favourite Barrymore is Lionel, probably because he made more movies than his siblings.

I also love John and Ethel.

I have not seen much of Drew's career.

I love her father's performance in While The City Sleeps

2. Hustons;

Walter was from Ontario

John was a great director

I am quite familiar with angelica

3. Fondas:

Henry Fonda is certainly my favourite.

I prefer Jane's carer over Peter's career, but I follow them both

I'm somewhat familiar with Brigitte's career

3. Fondas:

Henry Fonda is certainly my favourite.

I prefer Jane's carer over Peter's career, but I follow them both

I'm somewhat familiar with Brigitte's career

With the Hustons, there are two more of note:

Actor and director Danny Huston, younger brother of Anjelica. He was memorable in 30 Days of Night, The Constant Gardener, The Aviator, Robin Hood and TV shows like American Horror Story: Coven.

And then there's Jack Huston, nephew of Anjelica and Danny (son of their non-actor brother Tony). He was terrific as the scarred assassin in HBO's Boardwalk Empire, and among other movie roles, he's the star of the forth-coming remake of Ben-Hur.

And on the Fonda side, there's one more. Troy Garity is Jane's son with Tom Hayden. He's acted in many films and TV shows, including Bandits, Barbershop, Sunshine, and Gangster Squad.

Thanks for the pictures and the information on the Hustons and the Fondas.

I have heard of Danny, although I have not seen him in anything yet.  However, I have the DVD of HITCHCOCK, about the making of the movie Psycho, and Danny is in that movie.

I will likely have to watch the movie as is in regards to my DVD player, even though I have a new DVD, because no one ever has the time to change mine.

The Fondas are quite a large dynasty, and there are plenty I do not know well.

The family I know the best are the Barrymores. Even though I have not seen a lot of Drew's career, she is a year older than I am only, so I know more about her than might otherwise of an actress around my own age.  I loved the biographer interviews during the recent TCM spotlight.

My favorite acting family is the Barrymores.

I don't have a favorite because I love them all - - Lionel, Ethel, John and Drew.

My favorite movie about the Barrymore's is Too Much, Too Soon - - the biography of actress Diana Barrymore, Jack Barrymore's daughter, which is played by Dorothy Malone. Errol Flynn plays his friend John Barrymore in a very eerie protrayal.

The most intriguing family member and actor for me is John Drew, Drew's father.

His roles show a great deal of potential that just never was allowed to develop.

I really enjoyed the play that Christopher Plummer did on Broadway, Barrymore, where he portrayed John Barrymore trying to make a comeback in a Shakespearean play. Christopher Plummer won the Tony Award for that 1997 play.

Also, my hobby is reading books about the Barrymores

I'm looking forward to the the next generations of Barrymores, Thanx to Drew!

All the Fondas are good actors, but I think Henry Fonda and Bridget Fonda are the best. There's nothing wrong with any of them except Jane is a pain in the ****.

I never cared much for John Huston or any members of his family. But he's a good director. I like John as an actor better than Walter-- John blew my mind in Chinatown.

Princess:

I'd love to have seen Christopher Plummer's play about Barrymore.

I've seen Too Much Too Soon - saw it when it first aired on TCM. It's like it was the role that Flynn was born to play.

I wish John Drew Barrymore has made more movies.

Re: Jane Fonda:

Did you know that Peter was arrested for spray painting a road sign that said that Jane Fonda should be fed to the whales?
