"Duel in the Sun" 1946 Video Movie Review - Western Film Noir

5 posts in this topic

This was my first Mega movie review! It took me several weeks to get all the information and courage to finally sit down and do this review! I hope you enjoy this part one...it focuses on my thoughts of the movie. Part two will focus on the history and making of the film!

"Duel in the Sun" is truly one of the best Westerns of all time. You must see it!

Indeed one of the brightest lit, biggest-budget, biggest A-list actors, most vividly sunny and color-rich films in history...aka, not a 'noir'. I'll grant this though: calling it a kind of noir may be one of the most startling examples of high numbers of dimly-lit skull cavities found among any film audience in history...:)

I think he also posted his review for this film in the Westerns sub-forum. He probably felt it fit in both areas.
