History repeats itself: Ernst Lubitsch became ill while filming A Royal Scandal (1945) and asked Otto Preminger to finish the job. Years pass, and Lubitsch died suddenly while shooting That Lady in Ermine (1948) , and once again, Preminger took over the director's chair. As a 'memorial' of sorts to Lubitsch, Preminger insisted his own name be kept off the credits, even though he shot most of the movie.3 points

A.I. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE -- started by Stanley Kubrick, finished by Spielberg after he died Here are some movies where the director got fired in the middle: GONE WITH THE WIND WIZARD OF OZ WEST SIDE STORY (Jerome Robbins got fired in the middle, which is why the "Dance at the Gym" number is way less cinematic than the other numbers) PRINCE OF EGYPT BRAVE3 points

Guess being the Wicked Witch of the West must have paid well. Currently owned by the "Riverdale" creator. To purchase, all you need is $2.4 million, a mere pittance for the neighborhood! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9295397/Hollywood-home-owned-Wizard-Ozs-Wicked-Witch-hits-market-2-4-million.html2 points

You mention some very good films I didn't include. Looks like Joan needs to be featured in a month where she can get 5 days instead of just 4.2 points

Another one-- MISTER ROBERTS (1955)..Mervyn LeRoy was assigned to direct after John Ford was booted off the picture at Henry Fonda’s insistence. I guess Ford was drinking too much and had a big fight with Fonda. Ford & Fonda never worked together again.2 points

A Dandy in Aspic (1968) director Anthony Mann died during filming. The film's star, Laurence Harvey , stepped in and finished the movie. Spartacus (1960) Anthony Mann was fired after clashing with star and producer Kirk Douglas. Mann was replaced by Stanley Kubrick.2 points

*Mia Farrow came from a Catholic family of seven natural born children. Her mother was the Irish Catholic actress Maureen O'Sullivan. While, it may seem unnatural to some people that a woman would want to have a herd of children underfoot-- (and I would definitely be one of those people) It is often the case that individuals who were raised in large families are more comfortable in a similar family environment when they grow up. **Considering the relationship between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow-- They had children together-- Woody Allen was indeed a surrogate stepfather and a father figure to Mia's adopted daughter. That's what would make the whole alleged situation disgusting to most people.2 points

A DEATH IN CANAAN was fairly well received, as I recall. I think it garnered an Emmy nomination. The murder, trial, book and movie all occurred before I arrived in Litchfield County. Ms. Barthel was working for Tidyman even though she had already published the book. Such is the life of a writer. I did not know her very well either. She wrote another book about another murder in California that was also turned into a tv film, A DEATH IN CALIFORNIA. Interesting how she didn't continue the series. I'm sure there is at least one lurid murder in every state she could detail. I see where she helped Rosemary Clooney write her autobiography. She has authored a handful of other books. Any movie with Dennehy and Farrell in it couldn't be bad.1 point

That's correct, Starlit. It was also sung by Fred Astaire (not dubbed) earlier in the movie. That's Xavier Cougat leading the orchestra. Nice going , Star. You're up next.1 point

Excellent! Might I ask you to explain what clue or what you knew that led you to your answer. Did I give it away right away? Or did you have to dig. I've played this game just a couple times and I find the research as much fun as coming up with the answer. I learn so much. It's also good that I'm retired. 🤪1 point

No, Lake Placid, like most 00's-horror, was too consciously campy, while Alligator was just a standard 70's drive-in B-movie with a script just slightly cleverer than it needed to be. (Even the "What if there were flushed alligators in the city sewer?" premise would be too mangled today if The Asylum tried doing it.) B-movies had to WORK for a living, back then, and couldn't afford to goof off or fool around. 😉1 point

I found On the Riviera on one of the FX channels. I wish they would show Wonder Man or The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (sp?) - avoid Ben Stiller version because it is a downer.1 point
