TCM has been my default channel or over fifteen years. I watch at least 1 or 2 movies everyday. Recently, I have gone for days with no interest in the SUTS selections. I never knew that Elvis was considered an actor. I always thought he was a singer/personality! Some of the selections for this year are downright laughable. Did your committee get the membership role from Screen Actors Guild to see who you haven't covered yet. It is an absolute insult to the actors and actresses who have studied and worked at their craft for their entire lives. I 've heard Robert Osbourne pay tribute to some of the early choices as people who practiced their acting across decades and across different movie genres. That is a far cry from what your criteria looks like... "let's get some T's and A in there"; "whose estate is likely to donate to TCM if we honor them". I always used to look forward to knowing that in August I was going to see some of the original Hollywood craftsmen at the top of their game!
