  3. Movie was made maybe 1930's or 1940's.Story takes place in a country setting.A very old grandfather takes care of his grandchild.Because of his health a social worker tries to get him to give up his grandchild. The grandfather notices a strange man in a black suit showing up all the time.He believes this man to be the Devil. The grandfather has this magical apple tree in his backyard. He confronts the man in the blacksuit and says he will go with him on one condition. If he will go get him one of those big apples at the top of the tree. The"Devil" agrees.Once in the tree the "Devil" can't get back down until the grandfather says so.While playing in the yard the grandchild hears this voice. The "Devil" con's the kid into climbing into the tree. The kid falls. The grandfather hears the screams but its to late. His grandchild dies. The grandfather makes a deal with the "Devil" that if his grandson can come with him, he will let him out of the tree and go where ever he ask.The "Devil" agrees and they start the journey. They head down this dirt road towards these gates.Come to find out this man in the blacksuit is no "Devil" but a ANGEL sent from heaven. The grandfather and grandchild will now be together for eternity.P.S.( I seen this movie as a child maybe 30 years ago,it may differ from what i remember)
  4. Movie takes place in a country type setting( maybe 1940's).A husband and wife renovate this old house that supposedly George Washington stayed .The caretaker of the property i thought looked like the guy from from Pa Kettle. He finds this old boot while while landscaping the yard. They have a bad run of luck and are almost forced to sell the house cause they can't come up with the mortgage money. The neighbor wants to buy the house and throw them off.Movie ends when the dog opens up the boot found by the caretaker and pulls a letter out.The letter was written by George Washington verifying he stayed there.Letter turns out to be worth a small fortune and they are able to sell it and keep the house.( Very Very funny movie i must find the name and buy the DVD.Anyone knowing the name please help...tyvm...P.S. I thought the name of the Movie was called George Washington
