  1. Actually the way TCM is broadcast is up to the network not the cable company.

     

    This situation might be even more common as many networks are concerned about copying of their media. With everything going thru a cable box you have more control of the final disposition of the media.

     

    Good thing is that shortly after the HD version of TCM became available on cable the quality of the analog signal VASTLY improved. Still get beat pattern bars at times (an analog cross we have to bear) but the resolution is MUCH better.

  2. Currently my cable company is scrambling the HD TCM channel. Is this Turner policy. The only HD channels unscrambled on my cable are those that the FCC requires they carry in the clear (Local television networks). They charge $24.00/month for a digital tier and Box to unscramble.

     

    I thought I was paying for TMC, I receive the analog feed on channel 65 but the better picture HD channel is scrambled.
