[need help with movie title!]

I saw the very beginning of this movie on TCM quite a few years ago and I was intrigued and would like to watch the whole thing, but I can't remember what it was called. Before the movie started, the introducer said that it was so unique because the beginning shot in the movie is a full pan around the room and I think he said it goes more than 360 degrees, so they had to quick change the set on one side of the room while they were panning on the other side. The main character was a man who had been at war, probably either Vietnam or Korea and he wasn't right in the head due to what he had experienced. A panel of people were analyzing him at the beginning I think, but he was imagining he was in some kind of parlor room with a bunch of women talking. So I think the first pan of the room showed what he thought was there (the garden party of women) and then the second time around the room showed what was actually there (a panel of people analyzing him in what looked like a courtroom or something). I know this is really vague, but if this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know what movie you think it might be. Thanks!!
