  1. Does TCM ever show this Audie Murphy/Sandra Dee film ? We had a dubbed BetaMax version we had taped off of network TV back in the 1980's, but the copy broke years ago. Is it still in print ? If so, is it out on DVD yet ? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide... Cheers, AstaDisasta
  2. What a great movie ! Look for a very young Stefanie Powers (remember "Hart to Hart" ?!?) as Sandra Dee's best friend and Cesar Romero (remember "The Joker" from TV's "Batman" ?!?) as the 'mysterious Robert Swan'. I loved this movie. We actually dubbed it off of network TV on a BetaMax VCR back in the 1980's ! Wore the doggone movie out. Now it's on DVD. A great copy, which I highly recommend. Cheers ! 3. Any word on when/if a Danny Kaye collection (boxed set with all the DVD extras) will be released ? Cheers, AstaDisasta
  4. "...Must be his style, like William Powell's 90 degree martini elbow..." ROF ! Gotta love Powell's style. A few questions for you, Mongo, if you wouldn't mind... * Are the Philo Vance movies available on DVD yet ? * Do you know if TCM will be showing them consecutively one night ? (Soon, I hope !) * Does TCM ever have a "Powell/Loy Day" and show the movies NOT associated with the "Thin Man" series (i.e.: "Love Crazy", et al...) ? and, totally unrelated to Powell/Loy: * Is the movie, "They All Kissed the Bride" with Joan Crawford and Melvyn Douglas in the
  5. That's it ! Thank you so very much !!! I just KNEW it was Crawford, but it'd been so very long ago, I was becoming unsure of myself. Here is the synopsis from AMC.com: "...Crawford once again brings out the ice-queen persona for her role as a take-no-prisoners businesswoman whose demanding demeanor softens when she unexpectedly falls in love with a journalist (Douglas) out to expose how the men in her employ feel about their boss. When her father dies, Crawford takes control of her family's trucking business and cares for her flighty mother (Burke) and sister (Parrish). Douglas shows
  6. I've been looking for a movie I saw years ago. It's B&W, 1930/40-ish, and is about a female executive who has a particular congenital problem: All the women in her family get SERIOUSLY weak-kneed when they meet the guy they are to marry. She's out stranded one day when a truckdriver for her company stops to give her a ride. She doesn't tell him who she is, but it does come out that the driver will be in serious trouble if his boss (the brunette actress) finds out. To her dismay, he's the one whose kiss makes her all wobbly ! The actress reminds me of Gail Patrick, Joan Crawford
